Just a quick check to see how your Thankful Thirty is going? Thirty days of Bible Reading and thankfulness. Are you finding it hard to be thankful?
Let me share a little story with you. Friday night me and my best friend were feeling very exhausted and overwhelmed so we decided to take the kids to the park. We decided to order pizza and sodas and eat at the park and let the kids let some steam off and have some mom time. Well, the weather was a little chilly so we bundled up and headed to the park. When we arrived at the park I noticed two young teenage kids sitting at the picnic table next to us. They were in a deep discussion and were not very warmly dressed. I noticed the boy reached over to a huge duffel bag and pulled out a jacket and draped it around his female companions shoulder, while the duffel bag was open I realized that every worldly possession was contained in that one large bag. Then the light bulb went on, they were homeless or runaways.
Needless to say there was a less for all of us in the above encounter. Do you have a roof over your head? Do you have clothes on your back? Are you with your family tonight? Then you have something to be thankful for.
It is my prayer that the Lord touches these two young kids. That He becomes real to them (of course I had to share Him with them) part of my Christmas wish list 1 million souls saved. Secondly, we had to feed them and I actually gave them my jacket as it appeared they only had one for the both of them.
So next time you think you don’t have something to be thankful for, think again.
Until Next Time,
