I can’t believe it is already the end of the first full week of June, 2012. Where does the time go? I wonder if the Lord feels this way. The Word of God says that the Lord does not measure time like we do. (2 Peter 3:8 ESV “But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”). Sometimes I feel like I’ve lost a year. But then I return to my Scripture Journals. This is where I write down everything from what I am doing to what the Lord is teaching me, to what I am reading and where I am reading. When I pull out my Scripture Journal, the Lord’s light shines on the pages and I recall what lessons I’ve learned. I have a question for you today, do you journal when you spend time in God’s Word? If not, let me ask you to answer the question why? How can you remember what the Lord showed you yesterday, let alone a week ago? Unless of course you have a mind like a steel trap.
Recently, I’ve spent over two months in 1 Corinthians 13 or as it is better known as the love chapter. I studied this chapter of the Bible a little different. I’ve tried many ways to study the Bible, but they all seemed like to much work on the method rather than actually gleaning from the Word. Like one method where you use color-coding to mark key words, I mean after I assembled all the supplies I was exhausted and broke! I found the Focused 15 Bible Study Method that is actually created by a lady that lives about 25 minutes away. I’ve never met her in person, but I’ve gotten to know her through her blog and Bible studies. I have to tell you this is such a refreshing method. The main focus is the Word of God, not some list of supplies. Not someone’s opinion being spoon-fed to you. It is you, yourself, your Bible and a journal. You’ll be amazed, you can check out the Focused15 website by clicking on the icon on my blog on the right-hand side. (affiliate link).
Until Next Time,
