Be careful…

As I was reading Ashley Judd’s book “All that is bitter and sweet”, I came across some very great insights I wanted to share with you.  Now I promise I won’t give the whole book away, just a few good parts.

Be careful of the “I need to do…” statements which edge God out.  EGO – Edge God Out by Ashley Judd.

It is important to name our feeling, out them and release them before they have a chance to become toxic to our bodies and souls by Ashley Judd.

Proverbs 16:11 KJV “A just weight and balance are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag are his work. ”  The Lord demands fairness in every business deal; He sets the standards.  Is your business failing?  How about your finances?  Are you being fair in all you do?  If not you might want to reconsider.

Proverbs 19:3 KJV “The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD. ” People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.  Have you done this?  Do you blame God?  It’s time to sit down and find out why.

Can you tell I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in Proverbs?

Proverbs 19:18 KJV ” Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. ” Discipline your children while there is hope.  If you don’t you will ruin their lives.

Proverbs 21:27 KJV “The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind? ”  God loathes the sacrifice of an evil person, especially when it is brought with ulterior motives.

Seven things the Lord detests:

1.  Haughty Eyes

2.  A Lying Tongue

3. Hands that kill the innocent

4. A heart that plots evil

5. Feet that race to do wrong

6.  A false witness who pours out lies

7.  A person who sows discord among brothers

Proverbs 11:24 KJV “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. ” It is possible to give freely and become more wealthy, but those who are stingy will lose everything.

Provers 11:25 KJV “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. ” The generous prosper and are satisfied; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.  Do you refresh others or do they refresh you?

Proverbs 12:14 KJV “A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him. ” People can get many good things by the words they say, …

Think of one way in which God has shown Himself to be your author, standard, empowerer, inspirer, judge and rewarder.

Until Next Time,
