Whispers of Hope – 10 Weeks of Devotional Prayer by Beth Moore Review and Giveaway!!!

Do you struggle with your prayer life?  Do you ever feel ashamed or condemned in regards to prayer?  I must confess I have.  When I first met Jesus,  I had all these wonderfully “religious” people telling me what to do, how to do it, when to do it and why I have to do it, I felt chained to the verse:

1 Thessalonians 5:17

“pray without ceasing,” ESV

I could never seem to meet the standards I had set up or had allowed others to set up in my life about praying continually.  So I did  the only thing I knew to do and that was give it up and give it to God.  Almost the second best decision in my walk with Christ, the first being the decision to walk with Christ.

Beth Moore has re-released her a book on devotional prayer called “Whispers of Hope”, this is a devotional style prayer-book that is divided up into 10 weeks of prayer.  This book contains a total of 70 small lessons on prayer.  Can you see this God-girl jumping for joy?  Modestly of course.

whispers-of-hopeEach page of this 10 week devotional prayer journey includes a Scripture quote and reference listed.  I love this so I can easily look up the verse in a different translation without a huge search party going on to find the Scripture reference.  Listed next is the Scripture reading to go along with the previous verse.  Below this on each page is Beth Moore in here timeless, classic Bible teacher method explaining the passages of Scripture to the reader.  I don’t know about you, but when I read anything Beth Moore writes I feel as if I am personally there within the pages of Scripture as an eye-witness.  Sounds, tastes and landscapes come alive as she speaks.

The next pages of your daily devotional prayer journey is my favorite.  Journal pages!  So grab your favorite pen and let’s write out the beautiful truths that God gives us daily.  The first journal section is on Praise.  Then we have Repentance.  Next is Acknowledgement, followed by Intercession, then Supplication for Self and finally Equipping.  The journaling possibilities are endless as God speaks to your heart through His Word.  Let the Word of God minister to you, speak to you and equip you for His service.

Most of my readers know that I am not a devotional type person.  I usually leave a devotional book longing for more of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  I need His word, and I need it daily.  I find devotionals to be another persons interpretation of what transpired within the passage of Scripture.  I don’t want to be spoon-fed,  I want to read the word of God and allow it to work in me.  I want to be taught to search the Scriptures on my own.  That is exactly what “Whispers of Hope” does with Beth Moore at the helm.  She points you to the place in Scripture and allows you to read Scripture.  She then takes you through the written passage of Scripture challenging you to see different points and asking you to think outside your box.

So after spending sometime in “Whispers of Hope” by Beth Moore, I would recommend this product.  What an awesome CHRISTmas present for your pastor’s wife, Bible study teacher or secret sister at church.  Or how about for that new mother?  Anyone would be honored to receive such a lovely treasure anytime of the year.
