God’s Promises For Tough Times A Devotional For Bible Believers by Jen Sheppard

8270968God’s Promises For Tough Times, A Devotional For Bible Believers by Jen Sheppard. Published by Wise Dove Press.  Available for purchase in paperback and eBook format.  An 80 page devotional.  That contains short, concise truth nuggets for you in the midst of trials and tribulation.  You can purchase your own copy on Amazon, Barnes and Noble.  Jen Sheppard is an inspirational author, wife, homeschooling mother.

Have you ever fallen victim to the false gospel that once you are saved God promises you a rose garden?  As I said, that is a false gospel.  The Word of God tells us just the opposite.  We are to expect trials and tribulations.  So, if you need some encouragement or find yourself in the middle of tough times this is the book to encourage your faith.  A 30-day devotional experience that is based on the King James Version of God’s Word.  Providing promises from God’s Word directly to you on each page.  No man-made promises in this book.

“Fear not because He (the Lord) has a message for you.  He is forever faithful and He will not forsake you.” Quote from Jen Sheppard in God’s Promises For Tough Times.

I love how Jen Sheppard shares God’s Word straight from the Bible’s pages instead of her own opinions.  She shares her own experiences as she has walked through trouble times in such away that the focus is not on her but on the Lord remaining faithful.  She does a great job of causing us to turn to Him instead of others when we are faced with troubling times.

Solid Scripture is given to you on each page to reassure your faith and lead you to cling to God.  This book progresses from showing us who the Lord is.  A great reminder to all, but especially to those going through tough times.  We humans have a tendency to forget and turn to our flesh when the first trial or tribulation hits.  Then the book shows us what to do when we are faced with troubles and finally it serves as a reminder of God’s power.

Each devotional has full Bible text taken from the King James Version for each topic listed in the index.  Then there are several paragraphs of encouragement from Jen Sheppard based on God’s Word.  At the end of the devotional there is another applicable Scripture and plenty of room to journal your response.

I love how this book helped me to praise God no matter what my situation was.  Whether I was walking through affliction or I was on the mountain top.  I can praise God and it is filled with assurance that God has not left you and promises you based on God’s own Word that He is with you.

Until Next Time,
