The Battle Plan for Prayer From Basic Training To Targeted Strategies Review

bpfp

By Stephen & Alex Kendrick

Inspired by the Kendrick Brothers’ movie War Room,

this exciting resource from the #1 best-selling team

behind the Love Dare and The Resolution for Men

is designed to help anyone—of any age—-

become a powerful person of prayer.

The Battle Plan for Prayer begins with prayer’s core purpose,

its biblical design, and its impact throughout history.

Readers will be guided scripturally through the fundamentals

of how effective prayer works, inspired towards a closer,

more intimate relationship with God,

and shown how to develop specific prayer strategies for each area of life.

Prayer can accomplish what a willing God can accomplish.

It should be your first plan of attack in all of life’s battles,

not your last resort. If you want to experience the joy of

mightily answered prayer, then it’s time to engage with God at another level.

I have not seen the movie the War Room by the same authors of this book.  I know I think I am the only household on earth that has not been to the movies to see the War Room.  I wanted to finish this book before I went and saw it.  I was afraid the movie would taint my review of this book.  So now that we are on the same page here’s my review of The Battle Plan for Prayer.

In all honesty, I had to read through this book two times.  It is truly amazing.  If you only read one book other than the Bible this year it has to be this book.  I mean it!  The first time I read The Battle Plan for Prayer I read it from page one to the end without stopping.  The second time I read the book I followed the author’s example.  (shhh. I can’t give too much away or I would have to label my post “spoiler alert”).   Definitely follow the author’s example and prepare to see changes in your prayer life.  I know I did.   The Battle Plan for Prayer is a witness to answered prayer, it happened all the time in the legacy of the authors and it became the norm of their life to see prayers answered daily.

The Battle Plan for Prayer is full of personal examples from the author’s lives, hints, tips and ideas.  This was one of the things that really touched me.  Anyone can tell you to pray, anyone can show you their method how to pray, you can pray.  BUT, in this book the legacy of prayer is on each page and you can experience a legacy of prayer from the author’s own family dating back a few generations.  Scripturally based. Full of God’s Word, Quotes that reveal the prayer legacy in the Bible too.  An ongoing example of how prayer influenced the lives of men and women will encourage you the reader in developing and working your own battle plan of prayer.

The author’s ask you to join them and countless others on a journey of learning how to pray more Biblically and strategically.  To build your own war room of prayer.  This book starts out like basic training, now don’t let that scare you.  It starts out building a solid biblical foundation for prayer and takes you through the foundational passages and truths in the Bible and leads you to discover the many resources given to you by God to help us become powerful prayers and to pray with precision.  All along the way  you are given benefits of prayer, prayer’s purposes and how God answers.  This is an encouraging book that lifts up the heart that is longing after God’s.

The Battle Plan for Prayer is not some magic formula or book you read and you get all your prayers answered.  That is not how it works.  We pray for the glory of the LORD.  This book is meant to be a guide to lead the new prayer to deeper relationship and prayer with the Lord.  This book is meant to guide the seasoned prayer to battle all for the glory of God.

  1. Hi Melissa,  The book looks good and so does the movie. At this time however I am not able to read or see either. Anyway how are you doing?  We are okay. I just finished the study in Ephesians with the journaling and doodling group and am getting ready to start working on 1 Cornithians. I am also enjoying soaking my way through Acts one chapter at a time with the Good Morning Girls. It is fun and exciting digging into God’s Word.  Concering that movie. I know it good. I also know that I don’t have a room that I can turn into a war room.  I live in a moble home.  My quiet time is in different places depending on what day of the week it is.  Week days it is here at the computer desk.  Some week days and weekends I go to the front porch.  Other times I hide out in my bedroom. That is when dh is up. I keep my journal and everything portable, it goes where I go. My journal is my war room. It has my journal, my prayer lists, etc.  Well got to go ..catch you later.
